What a special week! As a school, we celebrated the International Day of Peace. Our students painted stones to represent themselves and pledge to accept others and build peace worldwide. The rocks can be found by our peace pole outside our school! The Kindergartners were also introduced to their Peace PAL group, which they will participate in throughout the school year. Together they chalked the sidewalk displaying what is peaceful and meaningful to them. We also welcomed the Wood County Hospital as they visited our classroom with a presentation about the importance of Handwashing. This week included the snapping dressing frame to practice self-care further and floor-sweeping to focus on the care of our environment. In writing, we added the pre-writing boards, which allow the child to prepare their fingers, wrists, and hands for writing skills by manipulating the movement of lines and shapes. We continued our apple unit by painting an apple on our art easel. Our first sensory unit was shown this week, exploring all the colors and identifying them by name. In math, our sets basket was added to the shelf. This work uses objects to sort and find out how many are in each set, a 1-10 work. Thank you to all the families who came out for our MSBG Journey this week. We love sharing our curriculum and classrooms with all of you!
