This week in Early Childhood, we introduced our geography curriculum. The sandpaper globe was introduced as well as our colored continent globe. Our first puzzle map was also presented, and we demonstrated the continents and their names. For our sensory unit, students had the opportunity to explore the Red Length Rods to help teach them the visual discrimination of sizes. We also explored color in our sensory unit. Students also learned to use a tape dispenser on the supply shelf independently.
We celebrated the International Day of Peace as a school community on Wednesday. The focus of this day was to raise awareness of the ideal of peace. We wore blue and shared our creativity with the school by painting peace stones and decorating the school’s sidewalks. We will also be meeting with our Peace Pals every two weeks. This group of multi-aged peers to help learn more and promote peace.
