March 8, 2024 Upper

Students had a wonderful time at the sleepover this week! Thank you so much for your donations.

We will be celebrating Pi Day next week on March 14th! It is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π  (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 (the 3rd month) since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant figures of π. It was founded in 1988 by Larry Shaw, an employee of the San Francisco Science Museum’s Exploratorium. Students will celebrate Pi Day with a contest to see how many digits of Pi they can recite, Pi jokes, Archimedes lessons, and eating pie. If you would like, bring a pie for the class on Thursday, March 14th!We will eat Pi after lunch that day to celebrate. Be sure to check the newsletter that was sent out on Wednesday to sign up to bring in pies! There are many sign-ups; they do not all need to be filled. We will supply plates and utensils. Please bring pies on Thursday, March 14th.
