We’ve had a week full of creativity and learning. Our students showcased their talents during several homework project presentations, where they explored a diverse range of topics, including baking, ironworking, zoology studies, woodworking, candle making, and even skiing! They are also making progress with their informational essay writing, diving into cool subjects like black holes, mushroom growth, and book publishing. We’re planning a field trip to the library soon, so the students will have the opportunity to select books that spark their research interests. Be on the lookout for more info soon!
In science, students explored the topic of greenhouse gases. The lesson sparked numerous questions about what they’ve heard from adults concerning “bad” greenhouse gases and global warming. Motivated by the discussion, several students created pamphlets to raise awareness about protecting our Earth, displayed their informational writing in the hallway, and one even produced a creative commercial promoting “Life on Mars” if conditions worsen. Our studies of ancient Egypt continue! Students enjoyed playing the sarcophagus game and are currently busy crafting their own Egyptian sarcophagus masks in art class
Several students excelled as volunteers and leaders this week! Some helped the toddlers during a nature walk in the woods, while another assisted in setting up an engaging presentation about Africa for our lower elementary students.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who has volunteered and donated to our Brown Bag food project. Please feel free to drop off shelf-stable supplies at your convenience. Refrigerated items can be brought in closer to the 27th, and chicken donations are preferred on April 1st. Donations can be left in the community kitchen. The Brown Bag event will take place on April 2nd from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Students may arrive at Brown Bag at any time. I will be there by 4:45 p.m. We will meet in front of Brown Bag (across the street from MSBG). You can choose to stay for the event or drop off your child. We are signed up to take orders and deliver food, but we’re ready to lend a hand wherever needed.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful week!
