We began the week discussing Irish culture and heritage as we learned about St. Patrick’s day. Children enjoyed making shamrock art using watercolor and a straw technique! Our science unit was all about transportation. We discovered that transportation can travel by land, air, or water. Many different types of vehicles were explored! The class has begun our study about the continent of North America. We learned about the countries, animals, flags, and places that are found in North America. Some practical life skills that were demonstrated this week included swaddling a baby doll and changing a baby’s diaper. A few of our school families just welcomed new little ones into the world. These skills can help the care of others in the home! We celebrated the first day of Spring this week with fun food preparation work. Making and eating dirt worm pudding! Children crushed Oreos, used gummy worms, and all the ingredients to make chocolate pudding for this delicious celebration. Building a Rock Cairn was added to the peace corner and for gross motor activity, we used a sit and tilt saucer.
