Welcome Back from Winter Break and Happy 2025! Our class community enjoyed sharing with one another something they did over the break. We also reviewed our classroom responsibilities together. This week we explored many new curriculum units. Rough and smooth work was explored in Sensorial. Students used their sense of touch to match and feel different textures. Our next science unit was all about animals, hibernation, and their tracks. We discovered what animals hibernate in the winter and what animal tracks look like for identification. With the snowy weather we added our mitten and snowpants basket to the practical life shelf for self-care independence and practice to get ready for snowy outdoor activities. We added two more bells to the bell table this week as well along with the damper. The damper allows the child to stop the sound after striking the bell with the mallot. Our food preparation was pulling string cheese using our hands to pinch and pull as our tools. Our new movement lesson was bouncing on an exercise ball for some large gross motor work!
