Welcome back from Thanksgiving break and Happy December! We began this week with the next Geography on Houses and Homes. We discussed what houses look like all over the world and each friend described what their own homes look like and are made of. Our bell table opened this week as the first bell was presented! We also added a beautiful bell to our movement “walking on a line” work. This allows the child to increase their balancing skills as they concentrate on walking the line without having the bell ring or make sound. Another movement work that was shown included using the stretch band for our hands and arms.Tracking work was added to our pre-writing shelf to practice tracking through a maze or path from left to right. The bases were added to our geometric solids on the sensorial shelf. Children match each solid to its two dimensional base shape, if it has one. The image captor was added to the peace corner for a sensory exploration and we all enjoyed the smell of cinnamon as friends used a grater to grate cinnamon sticks! Our community also began making Holiday cards to give to the residents at Bowling Green Manor.
