We introduced an engaging and special Montessori math material this week-the squaring chains. These materials explore the concept of skip counting, sets and multiplication. Younger students can explore them sensorially, while others utilize the number tags to label and extend learning. On the practical life shelf, we added lacing cards and putting on gloves and snow pants. The week also included new lessons of mirror polishing and cutting a paper spiral. In sensorial, we added the cube of the trinomial to our shelf, which explores spatial and numerical concepts. A new geography unit was also added, My Home, which focuses on the childrens’ homes and unique homes all around the world.
