Happy September Everyone!
Our adolescents are fully into the swing of the school year.
We are hip-deep in the Reconstruction of the United States after the Civil War. This week’s conversation will be about the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, the Black Codes, military rule in the South, and how the Electoral College works. It’s a good time.
They are still attempting to identify the Mystery Mixture in Chemistry. It’s been narrowed down using observations and the evaporation trays will reveal even more detail.
This week, we are finalizing our plans for our Fall Camp outing on the Auglaize River. Everyone seems excited to do some outdoor learning and service! This excursion takes place on September 16-17, and if there are any questions on the matter, please feel free to contact the classroom teachers.
International Day of Peace falls on September 21st. The whole school will participate in a morning activity, at which point the Middle School students will get their Peace Pals group to lead for the year. This is an excellent leadership and community-building opportunity that creates unity within the school, from Kindergarten through 9th Grade.
Tune in next week for our episode, “Where’s My Palladium?” or “Proper Care and Feeding of Your Chemical Elements.”
