September 20, 2024 Upper

We have practiced the scientific method and filled the classroom with experiments, became a civilization, started growing food for survival, worked on computer Google Drive licenses, studied the human skeletal system, brought down Mr. Bones from the attic, had Jasmine’s ferret visit, watched a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach molt (fun fact: until their keratin hardens, they turn completely white), took a practice MAPS test, and unfortunately, buried our classroom quail, Dingo. It’s been a busy week with some ups and some downs.

Our Camp Willson overnight trip is scheduled for October 21-23, and we are excited about this upcoming event! Thank you Gavin’s dad, Rob, and Ben’s dad, Bob, for signing up to chaperone!! To help us prepare for our trip, the director of Outdoor Education at YMCA Camp Willson, Kyle, will be here at MSBG for a parent /student information meeting on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 3:30-4:15 p.m. We encourage everyone to come.

Kyle will present a slide show of all the exciting classes at camp and answer any questions you may have. That evening, we will provide a packing list, participant release forms, and medicine dispensing forms. We hope you and your children can join us for a fun and informative meeting. These trips are important for your child’s development and an expected part of their curriculum. Overnight trips provide community-building opportunities, increased independence, and the development of practical life skills. We recognize this trip is a big step for many students and parents, but know that we are here to support both of you!
