October 4, 2024 EC West

Happy October! EC West began the week by introducing our first geography unit; Me! In Early Childhood, our geography focuses on the child’s place in the world, starting with ourselves. Works include looking in a mirror and drawing what we look like, recognizing that we are all people, but look different and have different aspects about our unique self. The monomial cube was added to the sensorial shelf. Students use cubes and prisms to build a larger cube. We added scissors to tearing strips on the art shelf so the skill is now cutting. We opened up the metal inset frames on the writing shelf. Students pick a shape to trace with a colored pencil. In math, the memory game was shown. This two person work allows students to look at a numeral 0-10, keep it in their memory, and walk across the room to count out how many counters are needed! Changing the toilet paper roll was added to practical life; a work they can extend into the home! In movement we had fun with the colorful stepping stones, moving from one to the next!
