It’s been a busy week in Upper Elementary, and the gorgeous spring weather has everyone eager to head outdoors (or take a nap)! We completed our MAPS Reading testing today, and I’m proud of how hard each student worked, even with summer around the corner. In class, we’ve continued with literature circles, tackled new concepts in math, worked on Science presentations, explored thesis statements in writing (a first for our 4th-year writers and familiar territory for our 5th and 6th years), and reinforced grammar and language skills.
Looking ahead, our annual Upper Bike Trip is just around the corner on Thursday, May 22nd. Please ensure your child’s bike and helmet are safe and ready, and encourage them to practice rides wherever they can. Family members are invited to join the ride. Reply to this email if you’d like to come along. The more the merrier!
Our 6th-year students have been hard at work planning their end-of-year field trip (May 15–16) and fundraising to make it a success. You can support them by:
- Signing up for a dance class with Vivian
- Purchasing lemonade from Jasmine
- Checking out Keira’s jewelry shop- which opened this week!
