May 1, 2026 – Lower South

This week we are studying Europe for Geography. In addition to the classroom work, the students will be able to enjoy an apple streusel made by their peers to enhance the European experience.

We have changed our math unit to story problems. Here the students will read a problem presented with pictures and/or words and use key words like “all together”, “what is left” and “product” to determine what math process is needed to solve the problem.
We are still studying mammals for zoology and last week whales were added to this unit. They are able to learn more about types of whales and focus on mammals that live in the ocean as well as on land.
Our 2nd year students are working hard on their state research projects and our 3rd year students are getting ready to create and put together their final product for Imaginary Island;)
The end of the school year is approaching so stay tuned for upcoming events and activities.
Have a great weekend,
Lower Team
