We have started a unit on Birds for Zoology. This unit introduces students to the third classification of vertebrates. Much of the work is nomenclature which will cover information on parts of the bird and types of birds. There are different types of feet, beaks, and nests that students can learn about. After some learning of these facts students will be able to do further investigations of different birds of the world. It is that time of the year that many birds are migrating back to our area. It is exciting to hear their voices and see them in the woods surrounding our school.
