We introduced a new science unit this week on Nutrition. Lessons about food groups, types of foods, nutritious and non-nutritious foods were given. Students could also use pretend foods to create a healthy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This is an easy topic to discuss and expand on in the home! Practical life works included using tools like a tea bag squeezer or a garlic press to transfer water. The estimation jar was added to the math shelf allowing students to form their best guess on how many objects are in a jar. In Geography we began learning about our continent of North America and all it entails! The countries, land, and culture! We ended the week with a fun movement lesson balancing in a large blue disc. Kindergarteners had their first grammar lesson on the farm. A small environment work to label nouns. Highlights this week included the teachers turn for the sharing bag! Miss Brenda brought in and shared her karaoke machine to sing songs for the kids, and invited them to sing their favorites as well! Miss Sarah brought in her tap shoes and performed tap dancing for the class. Students had fun cheering on their talented teachers!
