Over the next few days, several MSBG teachers are taking part in professional development at the American Montessori Society Conference here in Colorado. The conference is an inspiring opportunity for educators to explore innovative teaching strategies, share best practices, and deepen their understanding of Montessori principles.
Our Pi Day celebration was a huge hit! We delved into the history of Pi Day, enjoyed a whimsical story about Sir Cumference, crafted Pi Day bracelets, and even held a fun recitation contest. A special shout-out to Cori Vanneman for memorizing 100 digits of pi! Of course, we also brought math to life by measuring the circumference and diameter of all the round objects we could find.
In other news, when Miss Clementina, our Spanish teacher, was away last week, Boudi stepped in and delivered an engaging Spanish lesson to our lower classrooms. Thanks, Boudi! We also made some leprechaun traps this week, enjoyed s’mores outside (thanks to Ella’s Homework project), and worked in the sun as much as possible!
Looking ahead, our Brown Bag service learning project is scheduled for April 2nd. Students will be preparing chicken noodle soup, freshly baked bread, and cookies. We need your help to make this project a success! Please sign up below to donate ingredients or volunteer to help bake and make soup. This project is vital as it not only supports our community but also teaches our students the importance of service, teamwork, and working with your community. Donations can be left in the community kitchen, and more information will be sent out to those who volunteer to cook.
