Welcome back from Winter Break!

We wasted no time getting back into the swing of things. In History, we are turning our attention to the effects of The War of 1812 and the so-called “Era of Good Feelings” under President Monroe. We are analyzing the reasons for the popularity of the war, the economic boost that followed, and what constitutes the 2nd Great Awakening.
In Science, we are building circuits with batteries, wires, and flashlight bulbs. We are looking at the various components of a circuit. Over the next few days, we will be learning how to use magnets to generate electrical current.
For Writing, we are writing essays about important figures of the early 19th Century. A peer will generate a presentation based on the essays.
In Current Events, each of student is creating their own TV or Radio news report: scripted, recorded, edited, and posted for the rest of the class to watch.
In our free time, we made a ping-pong table, complete with accessories, using Model Magic air-dry foam clay.
