This week, we’ve started preparing for Student-Led Conferences! Each day, students take a little time to get ready so they feel confident and excited to share their learning with you. They can’t wait to show you all they’ve accomplished! In addition, we are working on Egypt geography through 3-D map making, working on Literature Circle, continuing math practice, and we had a guest speaker on the water cycle present to the class! Our baby quail have been a huge success—they’re all healthy, thriving, and bringing lots of joy!

It’s mud season, and Upper Elementary loves playing outside—especially in Lake Montessori! Playing in the mud isn’t just fun. Studies have found that soil contains a beneficial bacterium called Mycobacterium vaccae, which, when inhaled or touched, can trigger the release of serotonin in the brain- promoting happiness and reducing stress. Additionally, exposure to the natural microbes in mud has been linked to a stronger immune system. Please send a change of clothes so your child can fully enjoy this experience without worry. Children who don’t want to get wet can play on the playground or the field.
