What a fun week! We celebrated Montessori Education Week with lots of enthusiasm. We started off by hanging our posters out in the foyer. These were a class community effort and we were proud of what we accomplished together. On Tuesday, students were entertained by the teachers at a morning assembly. Lower teachers performed a dance and lip sync to the Jackson 5’s ABC. They did a great job!! Also, on that day snacks were provided by Admin for all the students. As the week continued, we celebrated staff, our community, and our parents. Look for the heartfelt letters your children wrote for you on Friday.
This week new units were introduced in Zoology and Math. Our new Zoology unit is on Reptiles. We are very lucky to have the university here in our community which allowed us to visit their Marine Lab and Herpetology Lab to coincide with this unit. Our new Math Unit is on Estimation. Students will be doing work on rounding to tens, hundreds, and thousands. The saying we use to remember how to round is “Four or less, let it rest, five or more, let it soar”.
One final note, with the weather warming up we have lots of melted snow. Please have your child bring water boots, if they have them available, to replace their snow boots. This will be most helpful to keep feet and ankles dry and comfortable.
Have a great weekend!
