Thank you to all the families for attending Conferences last week! We love to share all the amazing lessons the children are exploring and the growth they are demonstrating! This week in practical life we began exploring Nuts and Bolts. These works continue to emphasize the importance of concentration and independence and strengthen the child’s fine motor skills and coordination. ‘My Continent’ was added to our Geography shelf. This was a very popular area of study this week! We studied animals, countries, landmarks, and even the geography of North America. We added our Montessori bead maps to the shelves, giving the children a sensorial and fine motor activity while learning about the shape of the continents. Students were also able to enjoy another practical life food preparation work this week, Spreading Jam on a Cracker. This lesson emphasizes the skill of holding and using a spreader, concentrating on spreading jam, and of course eating the finished work!
