Students have begun work with fractions for our new Math unit. They have started using fraction metal insects to discover 1 whole, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, and 1/5. Later on, students will work to identify a shaded fraction and an unshaded fraction of a shape. As the work progresses, they will order fractions on a number line, discover equivalencies and add/subtract fractions.
