Happy December! We introduced an engaging and special Montessori math material this week-the squaring chains. These materials explore the concept of skip-counting sets and multiplication. Younger students can explore them sensorially, while others utilize the number tags to label and extend learning. On the practical life shelf, we added pennies in a bank, lacing cards, and putting on gloves and snow pants. The week also included new lessons of mirror polishing and cutting lined paper. In sensorial, we added the cube of the trinomial to our shelf, which explores spatial and numerical concepts. Finally, our next food prep lesson was given – preparing hot chocolate. Students had the opportunity to make this special winter treat using their practical life skills to scoop chocolate powder, pour water, tong marshmallows and stir! Parents, thank you so much for joining us for curriculum night! It was wonderful seeing all the kids share their work with you!
