December 5, 2025 EC West

Happy December! The students arrived back from the Thanksgiving holiday eager to share what they did and what foods were their favorites! In the classroom, our bell table was introduced with the first lesson of using a mallet to strike the bell and using a damper to stop the sound. Many other sensorial lessons were given, including adding the bases to the geometric solids and the small hexagon box. Movement works included balancing on a balance board and walking the line, holding a bell. Focus and attention is given to body awareness and coordination when holding the bell to try and walk the line without making a sound. Our warm, cozy food preparation work this week was making a cup of hot chocolate. Perfect for the snowy days and outdoor play that was enjoyed! In the peace corner, the image captor was added for a fun visual and sensory based exploration work. Our next geography unit was on “my home.” We discussed what our homes look like as well as animal homes, and homes around the world. Thank you for taking the time to come out for curriculum night! The children are so proud of their work!
