December 12, 2025 – Early Childhood East

We began the week with our next geography unit, My Home, which focuses on the childrens’ homes and unique homes all around the world. In art, fine motor movement and concentration were practiced as students learned the skill of paper punching. As we approach the holiday season, our first two cultural studies were introduced. The traditions and customs of Hanukkah were explored with the presentation of a menorah, the dreidel game, and creating the star of David on the easel. We also studied all the beautiful colors and traditions of Kwanzaa. Children had the opportunity to explore a weaving mat and bead stringing, a Mancala game and a special Kinara art project. The week concluded with the sensorial christmas tree and in practical life we decorated a sugar cookie, spreading icing and using colored sprinkles.
