We began the week with our Music Program, showcasing the music and movement Early Childhood has been practicing, then having the opportunity to watch the older students perform. In the classroom, we introduced one of our final culminating practical life lessons, Making Cinnamon Bread! This work integrates many of the practical life skills we have worked on all year, including measuring, transferring solids and liquids, pouring, stirring, and scooping; in addition to concentration, coordination, confidence, independence and order. In science we began studying birds. We learned parts of a bird, types of birds, and labeled parts of a bird. Shaving cream on a table was explored in our practical life area along with the geoboards – reinforcing fine motor skills, concentration and coordination.
