April 17, 2026 – Lower North

Welcome back! We hope you had a peaceful break and we loved hearing about the fun activities that you did! We are in the final push of the school year but still keeping quite busy.
We have introduced several new units this week, starting with our Seeds and Flowers Unit just in time for Spring. We are learning about parts of a flower as well as some types of plants/flowers.  We enjoyed trying the Sunflower Seed Brittle that some of the Lower Elementary students made on Thursday in correlation with our Seeds unit. It is always great to try something new!    Students are now exploring prefixes and suffixes in Word Study, focusing on meanings, rules, and how to make new words with a variety of prefixes and suffixes. We have also switched our Math Unit works between classrooms, with Lower North studying graphing and Lower South studying measurement.
The 3rd year students have been invited to the annual Bowling Green Bike Safety Presentation, and a permission slip was sent home on Monday, April 14th. Please ensure that this permission slip is returned by Friday, May 1st.
Have a great weekend,
Lower Elementary Team
