Happy Montessori Education Week! This week was filled with school spirit and all about showing appreciation for the wonderful people within the MSBG community from the staff, families, and to the students. This special week kicked off by having a school wide assembly to show how amazing MSBG truly is along with each classroom creating something to beautify our school. On Tuesday, teachers showed their appreciation to their students by offering them a special treat during the school day. Some teachers and staff members even had fun dressing up as a student! On Wednesday, we celebrated our hard-working staff and our amazing PTO provided a delicious lunch. On Thursday, we showed our appreciation to the community by each classroom providing something to a local business. This year all of Lower Elementary made dog/cat treats and dog/cat toys for the Humane Society. The week wrapped up with everyone being able to participate in the infamous Pajama Day and honor our wonderful families! Lastly, we want to send out a HUGE thank you to all the families for the generous donations towards this week. We are very grateful for your kindness and generosity! We would not have been able to make this week so memorable without you!
Along with the excitement of Montessori Education Week, students were presented with a new word study unit, homonyms. Through this unit students learn that homonyms are words that may sound or are spelled alike but have different meanings. On the word study shelf, students have the opportunity to explore activities and learn about many words that are homonyms. Prior to this unit, children were introduced to synonyms and antonyms. Each of these units not only encompass children learning about antonyms, synonyms, and homonyms but also allows for vocabulary enrichment to take place.
See We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
