Happy Montessori Education Week! Thank you for celebrating the philosophy and community we are all a part of! It was so fun to participate in fun themed activities and see how excited the students were. The community members we chose to do a big thank you to were All Seasons Lawn and Landscaping who plow the snow for us and help take care of our grounds! Children used their handprints to make a fun thank you poster and made special treats for them! Work in the classroom included making peaceful people to represent our class community and place them in a special place in our peace corner. The full bell scale is now out on the bell stand to match each note. Our new food preparation work was making “ants on a log.” Students used celery, spread cream cheese on it, and topped it with raisins for the “ants.” In Practical Life, the students were introduced to pouring water. Our new sensorial unit is exploring thermic and identifying hot versus cold. A movement lesson was shown using the red balance saucer for a full body gross motor challenge! The kindergartners had their first grammar lesson on nouns in the environment. We ended the week in our Pajamas!
