What a great week celebrating Fall! The students had the opportunity to explore many different holiday works and practice their fine motor skills and concentration. Works included pounding tees into a pumpkin and a spooky sensory bowl. On the art shelf, we drew faces on a pumpkin with markers, made spider web art using a painted marble and explored pumpkin art with chalk blending. In math we explored our new unit, “Greedy Duck”! This special unit introduces greater than, less than, and equal to. We also had fun carving a pumpkin and roasting the seeds. On Tuesday, our pre-school friends were able to hunt for pumpkins on the playground while our kindergarteners went on our first field trip to the Pumpkin Peddler. Today, we enjoyed our Harvest Party with movement games, art projects, a holiday story with treats and ended with a fall cupcake! Thank you so much for all the parent volunteers who donated pumpkins and/or their time to make this holiday week so special!
