With summer silliness in full swing, it’s hard to believe how swiftly this year has passed! This week, Gladys has been immersed in our botany and biology explorations. After collecting and identifying plants in the classroom and the woods, she designed and led a mini-biology lesson for our fourth-year students with just a bit of teacher guidance. Meanwhile, Zlata and Camilla have earned the title of solar sleuths by focusing sunlight through a magnifying glass to light a candle and then carefully documenting each step of the scientific method. Another issue of McEwen Magazine has been published; this time, he interviewed a student musician. Boudi, McEwen, and Gladys have been collaborating on an original murder mystery, writing the script, directing scenes, and filming their production.
In history, students are diving into the epic adventures of the Iliad and the Odyssey. In writing, they began drafting their informational essays. On the math front, we tackled fraction subtraction with unlike denominators, practiced decimal multiplication, and completed our MAP Math tests.
