This week Lower North is reviewing Days of the Week while Lower South is studying Months of the Year.
We added some extension work to our Simple Machine Unit with the help of Rube Goldberg. The students were offered a variety of materials to create an obstacle course using several simple machines. They first drew their course, wrote their hypothesis, gathered materials, built it and tried it out. Many were able to be successful the first time, while others realized they had to make some changes. This was great work for creativity, simple machine practice and teamwork!
Last week our students greeted our upcoming 1st year students for “moving up days” on Tuesday and Wednesday. They were able to show off their classroom, introduce some work and get our new friends excited about Lower Elementary. The 3rd year students visited Upper this week for a similar experience.
