What a fun and festive week we had! The week began with a wonderful band performance by our Upper and Middle school students. Our class enjoyed the sing along songs and all the instruments! We had a lesson about gift wrapping and gift giving. Friends had the opportunity to wrap a present and deliver it to another friend using their imagination on what gift was received! We studied the holiday of Christmas this week. Students learned about decorating a Christmas tree and setting up the Nativity Scene where they could retell the story of the birth of baby Jesus. They used their stringing skills to string beads onto pipe cleaners and make a beaded candy cane decoration! Our class also grated cinnamon sticks. Two peppermint science experiments were demonstrated this week! Ask your child what happened to the candy cane when placed in a glass of water! They also observed what happened to circle peppermints in a tray when hot water was poured over them. On Friday we celebrated the season with our Winter party! We enjoyed wearing our pajamas, listening to a special winter pop-up book, played games, sang songs, and enjoyed special treats and a short movie with popcorn. Have a wonderful holiday break and see you all in the New Year!
