This week, our toddlers engaged in animal matching work and had a wonderful time exploring! They practiced object-to-picture matching, connecting 3D objects to their 2D representations.
In a Montessori environment, this type of hands-on matching activity supports early cognitive development by helping children make meaningful connections between concrete and abstract concepts. As they worked, the toddlers were also strengthening their visual discrimination skills and building early foundations for language and literacy.
