Jenny Dorrell

Interim Executive Director

Jenny is an experienced Montessori teacher and teacher trainer, holding her AMS E-I and AMS E-I/II credentials from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center (MMTEC). She has taught at the Lower, Upper, and Middle levels and has served as a teacher trainer for the MMTEC since 2014 and the Montessori Teacher Education Institute of Atlanta since 2018. Additionally, Jenny holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.

Jenny has served on the board of directors for the Montessori Partnerships for Georgia and the Hillside Montessori of LaGrange as well as performed and directed for the LaGrange Theatre Company. Additionally, Jenny loves working with and teaching parents about Montessori education/philosophy and has led several parent development workshops.

Liz Burks

Admissions and Marketing Coordinator

Liz brings over ten years of administrative experience, including both in-office and remote roles as an Administrative Assistant. She has spent the past year working in a multiple disabilities classroom and brings several years of experience volunteering with children.

As a mom of three, Liz values child-centered education and is passionate about supporting families as they explore the Montessori School of Bowling Green.

Sarah Dickes

Administrative Clerk

Sarah is from Napoleon Ohio and earned a Bachelor of History and Communication Arts from Malone University and her Masters in Museum Studies from Syracuse University. Throughout her graduate career, she worked in museums and libraries organizing materials and exhibits with curators and archivists. After graduation and working as a museum curator, she found her niche in administrative work and spent the last three years working in that field before moving back to Ohio.

Yolanda Cano

Administrative Assistant

Yolanda is from Deshler and has had many years of administrative experience, with the majority being locally at BGSU. Yolanda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Bowling Green State University and an Associate’s degree in Business from Stautzenberger College. Additionally, Yolanda has worked in a local bakery and we are told she makes wonderful confections!

We welcome all of the experience and training Yolanda will bring to the table and are excited to have her as part of our MSBG community.

Thomas Knopf

Office Manger and Bookkeeper

We are excited to welcome Thomas to our team!
A Northwest Ohio native, Thomas brings a strong background in both community and financial stewardship. He spent 18 years working in nonprofit community mental health, followed by over six years at a CPA firm auditing nonprofit organizations.
Thomas holds a bachelors in Organizational Management from Bluffton University and an associates in Accounting from Owens Community College.

Over the past year, he enjoyed traveling across the United States, exploring new places and experiences. In his free time, he enjoys reading autobiographies and mystery novels and sharing his love of music as a percussionist with the University of Findlay Symphonic Band and the Findlay Civic Band.

We welcome Thomas and his extensive experience.
