Hello Families,
Here’s the weekly update from the MSBG Adolescent Classroom!
History
The students will be finishing up their Silk Road Projects this week, allowing us to move on to our conversation about the Columbian Exchange. Ask your adolescent what they are producing about the Silk Road.
Science
In Diversity of Life, we will be discussing Heredity, Adaptation, and Classification of Life. The students will use card sorts, slide shows, and microscopic images, as well as learning to use Punnett Squares to track genetics. We have a lot of work ahead of us this week.
In Weather and Water, we will be using our knowledge of air pressure, density, and humidity to learn how warm fronts and cold fronts interact. This material is fundamental to their understand of how weather happens and being able to predict it.
Microeconomy
Mustang Cafe: Our grand opening was a success! For our returning participants, the routines are coming back quickly, and our new hands are learning as we go. Mustang Cafe will be open every Wednesday, from 8:00 – 8:45 am.
A Quality Dozen: Our fertile eggs arrived this week! The incubator is running, and we are counting the days until our hatchlings grace us with their presence.
Shirts?: We are practicing with some sample transfers and scrap t-shirts while we decide on designs and materials to use.
Updates for all three projects should be expected in each upcoming news report.
Electives
We are one lesson into each of our Elective courses. The students are invested in their follow-up work, and we’re looking forward to seeing the products that come out of these collaborative efforts.
That’s it for this week! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Jeremy or Kayla at middle@montessorischoolbg.org. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for next week’s update, titled: “Eggs Marks the Spot!” or “Omelette You Finish.”
