What a fun and busy week! Our new food preparation work was ladling vegetable soup and then tasting it! Shaving cream on a table was a popular work choice, this multi-step work encompasses pouring water, cleaning up, sensory discovery, and fine motor skills! Students also polished a variety of gourds. Sponge squeezing was introduced in practical life to squeeze water out of a large sponge into a large bowl. On the writing shelf, we introduced tracking through lines and patterns. The cube of the trinomial was shown as a new sensorial work where you first sort cubes and prisms by color and then create a larger cube using all the pieces. The triangle box was also available on the sensorial shelf as different size triangles can all equal a bigger one. Our new science unit was about how Earth is made up of land, air, and water. We then discussed transportation and animals and how they travel through the land, air, and water. Our next geography unit was about “My family.” We discussed what our own families look like and how they are the same or different from other families around the world.
