August 29, 2025 Lower North

The upcoming three-day weekend will be well deserved for both students and teachers.  It has been a very busy week!  In order to reach normalization in the classroom, there is much orientation going on.  Students have been taking in an immense amount of information regarding the routine in the classroom, as well as expectations and responsibilities with academics.  Many small group and individual lessons have taken place.

We have opened up several shelves in the classroom for exploration.  We are currently studying Parts of a Plant in Botany, Continents and Oceans in Geography, the Sun, Stars and Constellations in History, and our Zoology shelf unit is Living and Nonliving/Vertebrates and Invertebrates.  Children have been busy reviewing geometric solids, the squaring and cubing chains, numeration, rhyming, and nouns.  In addition, the Fourth Great Lesson and the Fifth Great Lesson were presented to the students.

We also started our special area classes.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have Music, on Wednesdays, we have P.E. and on Fridays, we have Spanish and Art.  We are fortunate to have a great group of teachers who work with the students.

We’re off to a great start this school year.  Have a restful and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
