Hello Families,
Here’s the weekly update from the MSBG Adolescent Classroom! Below you’ll find important upcoming dates, followed by highlights from our work together this week.
Mark Your Calendars
-
Feb. 11 – Winging It! @ Brewing Green/Jac & Do’s
-
February 12-13 – Winter Conferences
-
February 16 – No School
Tonight, Wednesday, February 11th, is our Winging It! Fundraiser Challenge!
Participating adolescents and crew members should plan to arrive no later than 5:45 pm. First bite is at 6:00!
After the contest, each of the adolescent participants will receive their pledge totals and the names of those from whom they collected pledges. They should collect these within 2 weeks.
The event will be streamed, unlisted, on YouTube. Here is the link to the stream: https://youtube.com/live/
If, for any reason, this doesn’t work, you can search for Jeremy Rober on YouTube and look for the “Winging It!” Thumbnail (it should be the only thing there).
M.O.M.
My Own Museum went very well! The students were prepared and engaged with all of our young visitors. The adult visitors reported that they learned quite a bit as well. We are looking forward to the next research and writing project!
Literature
Independent Novel Study Activity packets should be completed as of today. If they are NOT completed, our adolescents should spend their long, five-day weekend completing their missing components. Ask them about their books!
That’s it for this week! Expect that next week’s update will be significantly heavier on the academics, as we move away from fundraisers, conferences, and large projects. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Jeremy or Kayla at middle@montessorischoolbg.org. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for next week’s update, titled: “For Whom The Bell (Pepper) Tolls,” or “The Mild, The Medium, The Maniacal.”
Excuse us, while we kiss the sky,
Jeremy & Kayla
