This week started off with much anticipation and excitement about the field trip to Johnston’s Fruit Farm, which, to say the least, was a success! The kids loved having the opportunity to pick their own pumpkin and apples, as well as learning about the growing, harvesting, and storage process. The petting zoo was also one of the highlights and maybe one of the most talked about items of the field trip!
Focusing back into the classroom, some new units were introduced for exploration. In History, we are exploring the Fundamental Needs of Humans such as clothing, food, shelter, and more. The geometrical boxes are now available for examination in Geometry for the purposes of identifying shapes and their attributes, as well as developing shape composition skills. Students are still curiously and diligently delving into the various works in other content areas such as multiples in math, stem and roots in botany, invertebrates in zoology, facts and problems in math, and their language work.
On Friday, we observed the International Day of Peace by partaking in a variety of activities that signify the importance of such a holiday. Peace Pal groups were introduced during this celebration as well, and we look forward to starting these groups shortly.
As always, have a wonderful weekend!
