This week’s focus is sharing The First Great Lesson: The Coming of the Universe and Earth. In the first Great Lesson, the universe, and earth are examined. Starting with the Big Bang, we factually demonstrate how the universe and earth were formed. The lesson is presented in an overview fashion, integrated with experiments that help transform one big lesson into many smaller lessons. The smaller lessons are meant to spark the child’s curiosity and enthusiasm to wonder about new topics like astronomy, chemistry, physics, geology and geography.
“It’s this process of building curiosity, and enthusiasm that gives students a better understanding of the universe, the earth, and its interlocking scientific components. And when your child discovers something on his or her own, it stays with them and becomes imprinted into a more thorough understanding.”
