Hello families and parents! This week we started with our math and language lessons. Students completed the abstraction of multiplication materials that they started using in Lower Elementary. For this, they color in a binomial square of a checkerboard, which helps visually represent the multiplication of multi-digit problems. They also worked on math problems that helped build their confidence in rounding, expanded notations, and identifying greater or less than problems.
We also explored biology, where students were asked to work with a microscope. They then had to label the microscope parts and examine different slides.
Students complete language works such as synonyms, parts of speech, and analogies. Overall, we are working on our basics to help us move to abstraction and mastery.
