This week we began Peace Pals. For Peace Pals, older students (6th and Middle School) plan lessons that focus on peace and present them to our younger students. This is an excellent opportunity for leadership, community, and peace. In the classroom, students study native peoples of the Northeast and make bandolier bags as an optional follow-up. In Geography, groups are researching making a rice dish from that part of the world. In math, students are studying common factors, multiples, and the Sieve of Eratosthenes. Literature circle continues to be a fun and engaging way to dive into a book. We have had writing conferences this week, writing lessons, grammar, spelling, and geometry.
