Happy October!
This is the month that we look for normalization in the classroom. We are well on our way!
This week, students were introduced to a new unit in history. This unit stems from the Second Great Lesson, The Coming of Life. On the shelf, students can explore works pertaining to The Timeline of Life along with the different eras. These eras include the Cenozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and more. In addition, the students will be discovering various fossils on the history shelf. With these fossil works, students will match up fossils that are within certain eras from the Timeline of Life.
On the math unit shelf, students were able to start exploring work on expanded notation. Some of the works involve students taking numbers written in standard form, building these numbers with small number cards, and then writing the numbers in expanded form. This work helps children to understand how to break down larger numbers based on their place value.
This is a friendly reminder that the Parent/Teacher Conference Time Request Form is due to teachers by Monday, October 9.
Have a great weekend!
