The students in Lower Elementary have definitely been busy bees already this year! The children have many academic responsibilities to complete throughout each week, but academics are not the only thing keeping the young learners busy. As part of the Practical Life curriculum in Lower Elementary, each student has a classroom job.
The classroom jobs/responsibilities are chosen by each child and change bi-weekly. A few examples of the jobs include, a zoologist, trash helper, sweeper, botanist, duster, meteorologist, and much more. The children are very persistent towards performing their classroom jobs each day and look forward to choosing a different classroom responsibility every two weeks. The jobs of the classroom are typically enjoyable and pave the way for children to keep building their independence as they grow and learn. These jobs should also carry over to helping and being responsible at home.
