This week our students had the opportunity to learn in various settings.
In math, students learned about numbers that were greater than, less than, or equal to through various materials such as the binomial cube. We also introduced blue constructive triangles to help students use their different sizes and explore other shapes. To help improve hand-eye coordination, students used a hammer to pound different materials. Students also used a pin to poke holes in a shape and then punch out the shape. This work also helps improve their three-finger pincer grasp and fine motor skills. The sit and tilt saucer was also added to the movement shelf to assist students in strengthening their core and gross motor skills.
We also expanded on our leaf and tree science unit this week by going on a nature hike, and students completed leaf and tree rubbings.
