We would like to extend our gratitude to all of you who took the time to virtually meet with us last week.  It is very important to make sure we communicate and share information about your children.  Your child’s progress report is available on My BackPack if you still need to access it.

This week the students were introduced to a new punctuation mark.  They have been reviewing the period, question mark, and have now been introduced to the exclamation mark.  The lesson describes this punctuation as one that we use when writing a strong emotion.  That’s so exciting!  Wow! That is so much fun!  Reviewing the punctuation marks is a pre-writing work that is important for Writer’s Workshop,  which we will begin in the next few weeks.
On the History shelf the students have been introduced to units on the Days of the Week and the Months of the Year.  Students can review the names and months.  They can practice spelling, and practice capitalization for them.  And they can do activities that explain the origin of each day and month.  In Spanish,  Senora Clementina is also teaching the names of the days and months.
