November 22, 2019, EC East

We are feeling Thankful! We reflected on what we are thankful for as Thanksgiving is soon among us. Hanging in the hallway are the children’s thankful art and pictures you can read about! In Practical Life, both classrooms learned how to set a place at the table, put feathers in a turkey, and filled a cornucopia with colorful fruits and vegetables. We also practiced self-care by practicing putting on different gloves, mittens, and snow pants.

Sensorial continued in the West classroom with the small hexagon box, and grading the first set of colors for color box three by dark, medium, and light shades. The East classroom used their tactile senses while working with the pressure cylinders to feel different amounts of pressure. The East classroom also used a bell to walk the line in movement, trying not to let it make a sound!
In Art, both classrooms traced their hand to make a turkey and made a tissue paper cornucopia collage.
The children started our first food preparation work for our feast; making applesauce. The rooms smelled divine! Thank you for bringing in your apples and for those who signed up to donate other food items for our feast next week. Remember morning and afternoon children are invited to join us over lunchtime for our community feast!
