It is hard to believe that we are in week 7 of Distance Learning. We hope everyone is staying healthy and finding some kind of normalcy in these unprecedented times. We have been working hard to keep the kids learning and progressing academically and want to thank all of you for your support.
For language we introduced interjections and conjunctions to round out our grammar studies. We continue to put activities on our site for students to use to work on their individualized spelling lists. Hearing the sounds in our English language is not always easy.
We focused on polygons for the math unit this week and hope you enjoyed building the figures. The goal for math facts is learning them “snap fast.” This comes with repetitive practice and is not always the most favored activity. However, regardless of the process you are studying, the more you review, the easier it becomes.
We are focusing on the Western/Mountain states for geography. The second year has begun their end of the year project with state research. They have each been given a specific state to study and will present their final project the last week of school via “Google Meet” to the rest of the class. Third year have also begun putting together their year long Imaginary Island project. They will also present the last week of school.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Sunday is the day that we all recognize how wonderful you are and we hope your day is filled with joy and some relaxation.
Have a great weekend and remember to contact us with any questions, concerns or comments. We are all in this together!
