Our new science unit this week was learning about life cycles!  We explored many hands-on works, including models of the life cycles of a butterfly, ladybug, chicken, and a sea turtle.  We investigated how tadpoles turned into frogs, made booklets of different animals, and made playdough models of life cycle stages.  Sensorially, we explored puzzles and even colored pasta representing the stages of a butterfly.  In movement, we added a balance board to work on core strength and balance.  We added table scrubbing, lavender tweezing, and transferring pins to a shaker in practical life.  These works refine fine motor skills, lengthen concentration, and prepare the children for writing activities.  We also taste-tested chips, salsa, and guacamole!
