Early Childhood began the week with making Friendship Pins for friends and teachers in the classroom. This is a special end-of-the-year work that uses fine motor skills and concentration! This work is also rooted in kindness and courtesy, as the children make then give these memorable tokens of friendship.
Additional lessons in the Early Childhood East classroom included shaving cream on a table, polishing classroom materials such as the pink tower and brown stairs, coffee grinding and cleaning a shelf. The West classroom had the opportunity to make their cinnamon bread, a culminating practical life food prep lesson that includes measuring, scooping, pouring, whisking, kneading, and stirring.  After each child participates in preparing his or her own personal loaf, the bread is left to rise and finally baked to perfection.  East students also enjoyed working on creating cheerio bird feeders, grating soap to make bubbles, polishing classroom material.
We wish all of our Montessori Community a very safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!
